Provigo is a food retailer in Quebec, Canada with more than 300 stores and franchises throughout the province. It has a retail chain and a distribution warehouse. It is owned by Loblaw Companies Limited.

In 1969, a joint venture of four Quebec wholesalers merged their activities in response to competition between Canada and the United States in an effort to save costs and build a large company's services. One of them is Antoine Turmel, who will become Provigo's first CEO. Provigo was founded in 1969 under the name Couvrette & Provost and changed its name to Provigo in 1970.
Initially, Provigo was the only name of the holding company that used the three-banana grocery business: "Provigain", "Provibec" and "Provipop". Only in 1979 the name of Provigo became a real banner, replacing the Provigain chain. Sister Provibec changed her name to AXEP in 1983. As for Provipop, she changed to Jovi in the 1970s. IGA Provigo's commercial store "Provi-Soir" (1974) was not affected by these trademarks until the Couche-Tard merger in the late 1990s.
The companies that have acquired Provigo over the years include Les Aubaines in 1972, Jato in 1975, Dionne in 1977, Dominion and Raymond in 1981, A & PMontréal in 1984 and Steinberg in 1992.
